About

Begin here

Cats get nine lives — I got six names. That's six lives to explore, and probably more if I get creative. Those names are somewhat sacred to me, though, so don't expect them all on a first meeting.

I was born in the States. Native American father, German mother. We moved to Germany early on. I grew up between worlds and ways of seeing — which is probably why I ended up doing what I do: translating between them, noticing what's missing, and building things that hold.

There's a deeply introspective side to me that sits at home, thinking slowly, connecting dots that don't obviously belong together. And there's another one that comes alive in the world — sparking conversations, making real connections, following curiosity wherever it leads. I like them both very much. They need each other.

I wear black, but I love colour. I build structure, but I crave freedom. I think in systems, but I lead with feeling. The duality isn't a contradiction — it's the engine.

I write tongue-in-cheek essays about politics and culture. I'm building my first iOS app because my workout timer had the audacity to ask for a subscription. I read Kissinger and Machiavelli not to be clever, but because I believe power without responsibility is the ugliest thing in the world — and I'd like to do better. I take photographs, though fewer these days. I connect dots between things most people keep in separate drawers.

I have more interests than I'll ever pursue. Maybe that's a flaw. Maybe it's just not focused yet. Or maybe the connecting is the thing.

A lot happened early on — some of it childhood-friendly, much of it not. I won't unfold it here. But I will say this: I met death young, and it kept visiting. That sounds heavy, and it was. But it also gave me something I wouldn't trade — I don't take lightness for granted, and I don't run from weight. Both are mine. Everything I'm good at was built in that space between the two.

I'm still figuring it out. That's all I could ever ask for.
