SHABBAT (Screenplay Treatment) (2025)

Film & Screenwriting

Logline: Think BBCs Luther but jewish and German in the early 2000s. Dotcom crash, reunification, a raw, unfiltered Germany. Dreams of old and new. Intrigued? Read the German treatment here.

Personal: A part of me loves noir. It’s the most honest genre to me. Not the anti-hero thing but that the world can feel quite dire if you look to closely. Shabbat is personal, as the main protagonist tries to break free from the self-imposed genre. Might be a little too much of me in it. It's not finished but has been my on-off work for almost 4 years. Changed quite significantly over the time. I like this version the most, however. Feels truest to the character.
